Joe Pop’s Shore Bar & Restaurant was rockin’ with good tunes and great vibes for David’s Dream & Believe Cancer Foundation’s 4th Annual Frank V. Panzone Jr. Memorial Cruisin’ For A Cure. This year, Barlow Buick GMC combined forces with DDBCF as the presenting sponsor for this year’s event! It’s thrilling to see a respected local business give back by partnering with the Foundation to provide hope for the families within our community battling a cancer diagnosis.
The dreary weather may have put a damper on the ride, but the party held its own. Jason Booth and Ted Hammock played live as the crowd enjoyed food and drinks by local eateries: Panzone’s Pizza, Shore Fire Grille, El Swell and Joe Pop’s Shore Bar and Restaurant. As anticipated, the silent auction was an overwhelming hit, with items donated from local businesses such as Jetty, the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce, Barry’s Do Me A Flavor, Ann Coen Photography and Bunkerfish.
This year, Cruisin’ For A Cure partnered with two exceptional organizations that continue to do outstanding work within the community. Supporters were asked to donate non-perishable food items to one of the local food pantries that provide food for many of the foundation’s patients, The Hunger Foundation of Southern Ocean. When it came to dessert, Piece of the Puzzle students shined as the divine homemade ice cream they created was loved by all.
As always, David’s passion and humbled pride filled the room with teary eyes as he spoke about the Foundation and introduced the new Patient Advocate Committee. Each Patient Advocate individually spoke about their journeys thus far, leaving everyone speechless, as each and every one of their stories provided a dose of hope. These beautiful souls have promised to continue to share their experiences at future events and through the Foundation’s social channels.
